Finally, the finances. This place was more expensive than a regular vet (duh), but that is because they offer services and hours a regular vet doesn't or can't offer (also, duh). I appreciated their willingness to work with us on a price. It was expensive, don't get me wrong, but they worked up an estimate and the surgery went so well, she came in WAY under budget. I really appreciated this as well.
Our dog was patched up and sent home with us that day (which I did not expect!) and they even mentioned, even if she had had to stay the night, they would not have charged us extra for the overnight stay. I consider this fair and very considerate of our financial situation.
Thank you for your care for my family and I!
i could not be happier with the care they provided my boy Walter during his stay here. An unfortunate circumstance brought us here and he had to stay for a few days. Dr. Christinat was communicative and thorough, and even though we never had the chance to meet in person, I trusted that he and his team provided the best care possible. Yes the prices are steep, but I could not put a price tag on my dogs health and I'm grateful Wichita has a place to turn to in the event of an emergency. Thank you all!
They also did a great job of communicating with us. When Dr. Schroeder came out and talked with us, she explained exactly what was going on and how long we could expect to wait for our dog to be out of surgery. She was reassuring, VERY knowledgeable, and very friendly with us (as well as with our dog!)
I am not from around this area, as we were visiting family when my puppy became very ill. She was having trouble breathing and I've never been so scared in my life that she wasn't going to make it.
The person at the front desk was kind and patient with us, and they rushed her into the back room right away. She did have to wait a while to go into surgery, but my understanding is, that is how triage works! They patched her up to make her stable, and we sat and watched as several separate CRITICAL patients came in after us. If I had been in those owner's positions, I would want my cat or dog treated first, too!
Our first experience with this hospital in 2014 was made the best it could be. Dr Narocki did all he could for us and our baby boy. Stayed late, did research...everything. Unfortunately he couldn't be saved. It was not a good time but he did all he could for everyone involved. He showed genuine compassion and you could feel he was there for the right reasons. The second visit where we lost our baby girl last week was not a similar experience. What can I say- people go here in times of crisis. Visits here are stressful, unexpected and expensive...so no one gives this place enough credit for the good things they do. Myself included. I try to be fair. So I'm going to do that. The techs are wonderful, the management staff is thorough and kind. Both times my dogs received good care...that being said Dr. Pratt needs some serious training in compassionate care, communication and honestly she needs to be a farm vet. Very cold and rude. Not a vet that deals with loving parents fur babies" Just not a good fit. Will I return to this clinic? Absolutely. However Dr Pratt will never touch one of my animals again.
I give these guys a well-deserved 5 stars.
Overall, we had an excellent experience here. Our dog got injured in the wee hours of the morning on a Saturday, and our normal vet was not set up for the sort of surgery that she would have required. They referred us to the Emergency Clinic. I was incredibly worried about our dog, as she had a huge gash down her side (but was still otherwise acting pretty normal???), so we rushed her to the Veterinary ER.
Overall, I'd say my experience here was a good one (considering the circumstances). Dr. Schroeder even called us a few days later to check up on our dog and make sure everything was going okay with her stitches! I don't think I've ever had a vet call me with a follow up, ever. This just goes to show how far out of their way they will go to make sure your dog or cat gets the treatment and care they need.
This place is amazing! They treated my dog wonderfully and explained everything to me. I was upset when I had to leave my dog overnight and they reassured me that i was doing what was best for her. The vet called with any update before her shift was over to help give me piece of mind. My dog is better then ever and I appreciate everything they did!
The second we walked in the door, we were greeted warmly yet with extreme concern for my puppy. They took her back immediately and performed care IMMEDIATELY, while explaining the cost of each care provided BEFORE they charged us. I advise any and everyone to go here. You will not be disappointed.
