My husband took his shirts to Comet Cleaners and when he got them back he noticed one of the sleeves had been torn and then sewn. It was in an obvious spot near the shoulder. We KNOW it was not like that when we took the shirt in. I took the shirt to Comet to inquire about it, and was greeted by a tall African American man who immediately got confrontational with me. When I pointed out the tear and stitching, he proceeded to tell me that he didn't even have a sewing machine at the store so there is no way he did the tear or sewing. It's so highly unlikely that a dry cleaner would not have a sewing machine, by the way. Clearly this guy thought I was an idiot. I asked him if maybe another employee could have done it. He told me he was the only person who did the processing of items in his store. I found this hard to believe as well. Later in the conversation as he was trying desperately to get me to believe his mountain of lies, he told me he processed 200-300 shirts daily. And he said he had plenty of satisfied customers. I then said, "Wow, that is a lot of shirts to process all on your own." He then told me that, well he has the help of his wife and employees. So I then questioned his 2 different versions of who processes the shirts. When I did that, he got even more agitated and asked me to leave his store. Comet Cleaners exhibits blatant dishonesty and this man showed horrible customer service. He knew they tore my husbands shirt and then instead of letting us know about it before we paid, they decided to just stitch the tear up. Then, when asked about the incident, this so called owner, showed the poorest level of professionalism and customer service I have ever seen. We usually take in 15-20 shirts at a time to be laundered. Comet Cleaners can kiss that contribution to their income goodbye. There are plenty of options for dry cleaning in Wichita. We do not have to pay for this kind of horrible service.
I don't know how it is possible to get your dry cleaning and it have more stains on it then it had before you dropped it off but this is what just happened to me. I NEVER in my life have been so unsatisified with a dry cleaners as I am with this one. To top it off when I picked up my clothes the entire store reecked of pot. I will never go back again! BEWARE!!!
This so called female owner has NO SKILLS IN DEALING WITH A CUSTOMERS PROBLEM SCREAMING AND YELLING AND ACTING TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. I dropped off some clothes to be done for my son. My son called me upon receiving the clothes they were done incorrectly. I said no problem I will take them in or tell them and hopefully get a credit. I dropped them off told the nice clerk of the problem and she said no problem will redo them at no charge. I go and pickup the clothing and the person stated how much they were. I told her that these were were suppose to be done without a charge. She told me she saw that and reticketed it for a charge. She told me she remembered doing these and they were done correctly. I then told her that they were not and then she told me they had a policy that all redos must be done within 48hrs and must be left on the hangars. I then stated it was impossible for the clothes to be brought in since I was out town. She said it did not matter because they were wore. But I stated they were done incorrectly. She then went thru this whole story why they were done incorrectly..(what??) I do not care about that. I told her I felt I should not have to pay; she then began scream and yelling and I told her there was no need to talk to me that way I was not screaming at her I told her I would wait and talk to the owner. She told me she was the owner!!!! . What??? This is not the way a owner deals with a customer over $17. The bottom line I paid left saying we would never do business ever with them. I did not tell her that. I was polite. Well of course I am going to tell people about this bizarre incident

I have used Comet for years and consistently get great service. Several years ago I was missing some shirts and I approached the owner. He listened and then stated he was confident that the shirts were not missing. I further explored the whereabouts of the missing shirts, and sure enough, the shirts were in my closet. We laugh about it now - I was sure I wasn't wrong. Glad I hung in there with them - the savings over other local dry cleaners is significant. Just check the price comparison! ! ! ! And my shirts and dry cleaning look great.
and remember how it works....and those people will tell others. I was not home 2 minutes and told 2 people who are customers and they both said that was crazy and they would no longer do business with them. Poor customer service...The customer is not right! Run a customer off who helps pay your rent and other bills. Well I am gone along with 2 others $17 times 52 weeks... equal $884 a year ....that Comet will not see..that is just for those items not counting everything else taken there. Plus the loss off 2 other customers. Oh well what a way to run off customers. DO the math.
