Favorite place to get away from the city life and into nature. They are getting ready to renovate the trails to make it more bike friendly. This will be a tricky task because in the spring it can get pretty flooded.
This park has miles and miles of trails. Some specifically for horseback riding, others specifically for people. The infrastructure is aging, but as of this writing, the city has plans for major improvements in the budget.
This place it's the largest nature park in Wichita, with the most wildlife, and feeling that you truly are out in the woods. There is a concrete path, that goes a long ways; and a nature trail for the hikers or equestrians. This park has been preserved for a long time, because the trees there are very tall. One could easily make it a 4-mile hike.
WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBILITY: Most of the trails meant for people are concrete sidewalks, but some areas are not ideal for wheelchairs. This is because there are areas that are too steep and other areas where mud accumulates. Maybe after the city does improvements it will get better.
This nature trail is very serene and calming. Beautiful view of the sunset from the Tyler parking lots. Great for group or solo walks.
This place is kind of perfect. Came here for a jog and was pleasantly surprised. Enjoy that there are both paved and unpaved paths. Also love the graffiti art in certain places. They were fun little surprises to stop and check out along the way.
