Very disheartened to have a police officer approach us at Quiktrip's "safe place" and have us leave while we were meeting someone for an internet transaction. Specifically said the "safe place" wasn't used for that and we needed to leave. So running people off from a public "safe place" so they end up going someplace with a heightened risk of danger doesn't seem like what a responsible police force should encourge. If this is the mentality of WPD, then maybe you could offer up a safe suggestion and follow in the lead of the Andover police dept. Who specifically made a safe place for internet transactions with signs, surveillance, and is well lit. Take notes, because they seem to actually care about the needs and safety of their citizens. Shame on you WPD!!! Hope my son isn't same day endangered from your carelessness as internet transactions are a thing of the norm these days!!
Thank you for your service! The Wichita Police Dept. has attentive officers that have responded when anyone needs to pursue criminals who've given idol threats. Their Gang Task Force is Superior!
