I was stopped at 12:30 AM on the highway in the cold for supposedly "swerving within my lane", which was certainly BS. i was then removed from my car and taken between the two deputies cars that had apparently been tailing me for atleast a few miles waiting for a reason to pull me over. though i was clearly sober, coherent, and compliant they still felt it appropriate to try and search my car. when they asked for my consent i flat told them no, and from then on it was a waste of time. for TWO HOURS they held me in the cold without issuing me a ticket asking me over and over why i would possibly refuse to let them search if i wasnt hiding anything, as if not consenting is tantamount to reasonable suspicion. i told them quite frankly that i wouldnt forfeit my rights to justify having them in the first place. and every right i dont exercise is nonexistent. this notion was quite confusing apparently because this exchange happened OVER AND OVER for 2 hours until finally they gave up and let me leave.. but not before they gave me a ticket WITH THE WRONG INFRACTION MARKED.. all that bs and i had to go to court just to have the prosecutor dismiss BOTH tickets i was issued based on the fact that 1 was obviously wrong and the crime i was pulled over for, "swerving within my lane" i.e. inattentive driving, was literally laughable. she point blank told me that i was detained unlawfully. im still furious that such incompetence exists, wasting taxpayer money on witch hunts doesnt seem productive to me.
The food is inedible, not fit for human consumption without major consequences. Staff is very rude and condescending at least and abusive sexual predators at most. The accommodations are hard to get used to- most prefer sleeping outdoors on the river bank or a sidewalk. Overall, I think you'd feel more comfortable and even safer as a prisoner of war in a third world country. The only positive is that you will be provided with plenty of Benadryl!! They have discovered Benadryl is a non-addicting cure-all for just about every ailment from headaches to herpes to HIV, even heartaches and post op surgical pain! Hell, it even cures all mental health issues when taken with Trazadone! So, as they say : "Come on down, we'll even leave the lights on for ya'!"
I was pulled over on south Clifton street just south of the bridge, the sedwick county deputy told me he stopped me because I wasn't wearing my seat belt but he quickly realized my coat was black and my seat belt was also black , so he agreed I was wearing my seat belt, now at this point the traffic stop was voided due to evidence that the stop was unjustified, instead of letting me proceed on my way like a professional that is supposed to SERVE AND PROTECT, he decided to HARASS AND TERRORIZE me , he said well I also clocked you at 63 on a 35 . First things first there is no 35mph zone on the road I was traveling , it is a 30mph zone then jumps to 50 after the school. The deputy was clearly out of line and used his power to write a false ticket. The abuse of power by the sedwick county sheriff's department is unreal , and the thought process these deputies have is laughable. They no longer serve and protect the rights of the people . When you give police the equipment of a military, they tend to act like their in war . I have seen numerous officers engaging in gross misconduct and have a lot of it on dash cam , audio footage. I contacted the sgt. who oversees these monsters and he was of no help . He just made excuse after excuse for his minions, I witnessed a deputy buying a personal assault rifle , on duty , in his patrol car , FOR 45 MINUTES! !! he left his car running the entire time! And when he came out of the pawn shop I respectfully asked him for his name and badge number ( which they are obligated to provide to ANY member of the public by law) he decided to dodge all my requests and said he was on a call and almost ran over my foot trying to get away from me . Which was a flat out lie because I observed him drive across the street to have lunch with his fellow monsters . This department is completely out of control and WE THE PEOPLE need to stand up and be counted. Most people just submit to police when they interact with them . Because they have created this mindset that if you don't comply and submit all your constitutional rights they can pretty much do whatever they want and get away with it . If I justifiably kill someone, they would run me through the system and I would probably loose my job , my home , and everything I have worked so hard to build. But turn the tables and the officer just goes home until the " Internal Affairs investigation" is complete. And 9 times out of 10 the officer will get full backpay , get his job back , and spend no time in jail . Seems kind of f☆☆☆☆☆ up right ? Why even carry a gun if your probably going to go to jail for justifiably using it ? These deputies are notorious for enforcing the laws they want to enforce and ignoring the ones that they don't want . WE THE PEOPLE no longer have the constitutional right to travel unmolested. Nor do we have the right to freedom of speech. If we say something they don't like they charge you with disorderly conduct! !!!!! Why doesn't a sedgwick county sheriff get to yell at you and not receive the same charge . It shouldn't matter if your a cop or not . If you break the law you should be subject to accountability. Unfortunately these deputies are not . I dream of a day when the sedgwick county sheriff's department cleans up their act . I have contacted the KBI and the attorney general about this department. We the people also don't get to elect our deputies and officers that are supposed to keep us safe , we get what we get . And to me what we got was a pile of degraded horse s☆☆☆ . This department needs to change the way they interact with the people that pay their wages! !!!!!!!! Please change your corrupt department!
They bully and abuse people so bad, they agree to any terms the courts set just to get out. I heard the attending officers laughing about a woman who had filed sexual abuse charges. They were calling her names and laughing. A pregnant woman was having pains and they wouldn't assist her. I was only there a short while, over traffic court but I would rather die then ever go back into that haunting hell hole.
Went in to ask for information of an individual, but was treated in a very unprofessionally way. Why do we have these type of criminals with tattoos working for our city depleting the taxpayer's money, by slothing around being unproductive? I've been a taxpaying law abiding citizen of Wichita for 20+ years. I've never been so disgusted with my city and the process of how these animals get hired. I'm pretty sure a 17 yr old teen can be more professional than the 3 poor excuse of officers that supposed to "protect us". Shame on you Sedgwick county.
