My appointment with Advanced Orthopedic Associates was August 14, 2017. My Blue Cross insurance has a $25 office visit co-pay. I was VERY surprised when receptionist ask me for $175. I told her my co-pay was only $25. She told me that because my insurance deductible was $1,500, I had to pay up front! Gosh, a $1,500 deductible isn't too shabby these days...as you know there are plans with MUCH greater deductibles.. I even complained to the doctor but it was no use. I had our insurance person, at work, contact Blue Cross and sure enough, we have an annual Lab & X-Ray benefit that covered the entire office visit. Our insurance specialist then called Advanced Orthopedics and talked to a girl in the business office. She said any refund would be paid at the END OF SEPTEMBER. The bimbo told us (hold your nose before you read the next quote and read out loud with a sarcastic tone).... "We only write refund checks once a month" . What BS! As an accountant, I know full well that companies can write checks when ever they want to. My Blue Cross benefit statement, shows my entire bill was paid (except for my $25) on 08/22/17 . NOTE...this office virtually turns you upside down to shake the change out of your pockets BUT when it comes to repaying you, the customer, they use STALL AND DELAY TACTICS that make you wait months to get your refund!!! So now I don't get my $150 back UNTIL A MONTH AND HALF after the office visit. This doctors office USES YOUR MONEY as long as they can while delaying any refund. It's the most pitiful customer service I have encountered in some time. The managing physician is HARRY MORRIS. Write this doc and complain!! These b-holes have probably cost themselves a knee replacement customer due to their treating patients like common thieves. They will turn you upside down for payment, then STALL THE REFUND after your insurance pays. These people are extremely disappointing. There are MANY other orthopedic doctors in Wichita that treat their customers with RESPECT and refund their customers promptly.
My experience with my physician was unpleasant. I went to AOA a year ago as a young teenager and my physician made me upset and feel uncomfortable. All she seemed to do was interrogate me. She did not give me any helpful information and I ultimately left AOA making no progress with my scoliosis. I'm no longer a patient there because I didn't find my time enjoyable and comfortable.
Worst place to go! They did not care that my husband reinjuried his shoulder 4 months after surgery. They didn't do any tests to see what happened to his shoulder when he reinjured it. Doctors are suppose to care about their patients, Dr. Hearon and his assistant were rude and heartless. Go anywhere but Advanced Orthopaedic Association!!!
Top notch establishment. Everyone was extremely helpful, courteous and gave us their full attention. Highly recommend!
