I always get a little confused with their "family style" meals but good Lord the food is to die for. The best fried chicken, mashed potatoes and cinnamon rolls. Best to come with a big crowd (and a big wallet) bit worth the price
Kind of a long wait to be seated and again to eat. Such is the way with good restaurants though. Very good food, home made type food. Super awesome atmosphere.
My dogs didn't care that the livers were burnt and the chicken was greasy. They received a high dollar snack.
The first time my girlfriend and I went it was the best chicken we had in the city, fast forward 2 years and it was mediocre at best. The second visit definitely offset the first, the chicken seemed burnt and dry. I would say our second experience will determine if we go back or not, was not impressed at all like we were the first time.
Wonderful comfort food restaurant. Best chicken fried chicken I ever had (and I'm 64 and grew up in the Deep South). Fabulous hamburger steaks too with delicious wine and mushroom sauce. Heck everything's good there. Noisy at peak hours though .
Service was very good. Appetizer livers were mostly burnt and soaking in grease. Could you not burn them and let them sit on something absorbent before serving them? Same with the chicken. I ordered one breast. It was swimming in grease. Tasted ok, but it too needed to sit on something absorbent before serving. I wrapped it in my napkin to try and get some of the grease off of it. Salad was good, like their ranch dressing. The green beans were also good, so we're the cinnamon rolls. Everything that you are not known for or winning awards for was good!
