Cool nightclub with a spacious dance floor. D.J. is decent and plays a multi-decade mix so music appeals to all ages. I've only been here a couple of times so my rating may change over time.
Love this place!! Most friendly wait staff and awesome music on the weekends! One of the largest dance floors in town!
I normally love XY, the DJ is good and I have a good time when I go there. However, last night they had a drag show, and it was $50 VIP and $10 GA. I wouldn't have been mad about that, except for when we got there we realized that the VIP section was in front of the stage, and the way that the club is set up, if you aren't in front of the stage, you can't see the stage. So basically, the queens only got tips from the VIP section (they had a line for everyone else to tip, but it wasn't busy), and the VIP section was the only one that got to see the show. They had a screen for everyone else to look at, but it wasn't good quality and I didn't come to watch a screen.
Really good drinks, super helpful and kind staff. Never been disappointed with my service here. Modern and clubby atmosphere, yet laid back.
There are ways to do VIP without excluding everyone else you made pay a larger cover than usual to get in. Use your booths by the dance floor as VIP, put your high tops on the side of the dance floor by the stage and use those as VIP, even a couple tables at the front, but let your other patrons have room to see the show and tip properly. The enthusiasm lacked from the crowd the entire night and it was because of the set up of the show. I hope you learn from this. This one night really changed my opinion of XY.
